Aaim was founded by Raymond van Doorn and Michiel Hopman. Their shared passion? Getting stuck people and teams moving again. Because creating real impact — that’s what it’s all about. Not soft fixes, but always clear, decisive, and optimistic.

Since then, Aaim has grown steadily, and our vision has really started to resonate.
You may have noticed: no team photos or glossy headshots on our website. That’s intentional — we were getting a bit too much fan mail… and let’s just say, the occasional unusual request for our consultants.

Our Frustration…

When we started Aaim over 10 years ago, it was out of frustration. We felt, and still feel, that too many consultancies get stuck in good intentions. Phrases like “we need to hold each other accountable,” “let’s connect more,” or “we should address each other more openly” may sound nice, but they rarely lead to real change.

And then there are the survey results many firms present — basically horoscope-level insights like:
“Communication could be improved,”
“Leadership lacks transparency,”
“People experience high workloads.”

The problem? While it all sounds agreeable, nothing actually changes. Those feel-good one-liners might create a short buzz, but soon enough, everyone’s back to business as usual.

The Atomic Culture Canvas consists of 12 powerful structures, or “levers,” that influence culture and behavior. From leadership and meeting formats to communication and KPIs — we address all essential structural elements that shape daily behavior.

We focus on small, manageable changes that are easy to implement and, if needed, reversible. These are the kinds of changes people say “yes” to — approachable, energizing, and motivating to contribute to.
